Je Vais Bien Ne T'en Fais Pas / PARIS, FRANCE

My first post is going to be about my trip to France.

In France I went to 3 smaller towns - Grenoble, Annecy, and Seyssele, and, of course Paris. As I wrote "of course Paris" it made me a little sad because there is a perception that if you don't go to Paris, you really haven't been to France at all. This is what I do not want to reveal in my blog - typical tourist spots and perceptions. If you want to enjoy your trip to a full extent it is always better to discover something else. Something that no one has told you about. That could even be another tourist spot. But those are smart tourists. They don't just go to the Eiffel tower and are happy. They do research, and they know what they like.

I am going to write about an area in Paris called Beaubourg. As my friend described this area: ”It’s an area for rich hippies.” Unusual combination, huh? Not at all. Turns out this combination creates very inspiring and sophisticated neighborhood. The first spot we came across was “Hippy Market”. It was a very fascinating used clothing store loaded with vintage and up to date clothing for people with very particular style. Of course, you have to be patient and able to spot the treasures amongst not so exciting stuff, but that is how it is in every thrift store, isn’t it? And, believe me, this place is just pleasant to be at because of the creative atmosphere.

As you move farther into the area there are beautiful churches, statues etc. Of course it is full of restaurants and hang out places. I deeply recommend also visiting the Pompidou Centre. I loved the contemporary art museum inside it, but what fascinated me the most were the people hanging out right in front of it. Young people were just sitting on the square playing music, drawing, making clay statues, picnicking etc. Such a relaxed but at the same time innovative atmosphere. And as this is also a fashion blog, I have to mention that my eyes were very pleased by what I saw style vise. The newest fashion trends mixed with French charm and vintage pieces. Myself, I wore my new pleated pants from Urban Outfitters and a blazer from United Colors of Benetton. Unfortunately, I do not have a good picture of my outfit, but from this post just enjoy the pictures from Paris.

I also wanted to mention that I was very inspired by the Galeries Lafayette in Paris. This monster size shopping center could be very conventional but it’s own feel is created by a promotion declaring that “La Mode C’Est Vous”. The display of pictures showing different street styles convinced me that ordinary people on the streets really are the ones who create the fashion.

Another inspiring occasion was seeing an older French movie Je Vais Bien Ne T'en Fais Pas. It's just another piece of art from France that I would recommend to everybody.

PS. Oh, and by the way, I love the faux fur trend for the fall.
