DALKEY AND KILLINEY / IRELAND

I just wanted to share with you some pictures I took in two little historic towns of Ireland - Dalkey and Killiney. I was there on Monday, and I strongly suggest anybody that wants to visit somewhere else than Dublin or just get away from the city for a day jumps on a DART and heads to Dalkey!

But I want to go tonight…/ LONDON

First of all, I’m very pleased by Arcade Fire winning the Grammys. Just saying :)

Last week I spent few days in London, and my adventures started with a couple hour long wait for my friend that was flying in from Denmark. My first stop while waiting was Vafresco – a very pleasant surprise just outside the Victoria Station. This little restaurant offers fresh and healthy food and is quaintly decorated with fresh oranges that can be made into an orange juice right there in front of you. Staff is friendly, and the best – free wifi! :)

My favorite area in London definitely was Shoreditch.  Shoreditch is located on the East side of London and currently can be considered as one of the trendiest and most artsy parts.  Vibrant Brick lane is covered in countless restaurants, and all over Shoreditch are there are vintage shops and cool independent designer shops. Two of my favorites were Keep Zero Gravity and Hurwundeki. The idea of combining a salon with a boutique is something I had been thinking of before and now I just once again saw how brilliant of an idea that is.

Spitalfield market is great for both vintage and newly inspired designer lovers. The market is open during the week but ,from the conversations with the designers and sales people there, I unraveled that the best day to experience the greatest variety of goods is Sunday. So, all you hipsters, better get down there!

Sunday-Up Market is a great place to visit if you love to turn every meal into a cultural adventure. From the wide range of choices I picked Shrilankian food because that was one of the foods I hadn’t tried before.

K0G is all about experimental womenswear designs, that blur the boundaries between art and fashion.”

Classic chic and simple swank are central to Hurwundeki’s collection. [Their] designers are resolute in providing a fit that is not only snug and flattering, but one that sees materials we use of the utmost importance and essential to providing excellence.”

Sweetheart I Ain’t Your Christ

Holiday season gives me plenty of reasons to wear dresses. Here’s my outfit for one of the Christmas parties.

I just heard this song a week ago, and the lyrics really spoke to me. They are true for everybody because so often we expect people provide us with something that only God can give.

I hope this holiday season has been blessed for you and so will be the year 2011!!!

More than EVER

For me this week so far has been a music obsession week to the fullest. On Monday I attended Arcade Fire concert with Vampire Weekend as their special guests. Needless to say, the show was amazing. The Irish are absolutely obsessed with Arcade Fire, and now I know why. Their live performances are strong both quality and presence wise. During their show once again I realized how much I love creative people.

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

Then I found out there would be a Caribou concert on Thursday. Unfortunately, the show is sold out as the venue they have chosen is very small and intimate. However, that got me into mood of listening to Caribou, and, of course, discovering new music crushes. My favorite thing about Mice Parade is their visually very appealing and up to date videos.  You can definitely get some style inspiration from a video like this.

My music obsession week is going to end with a Kings of Leon concert on Saturday. I would say that is a classic because I don’t like to admit that I like something commercial. As you can see, there are great shows taking place in Dublin constantly so if you decide to visit Dublin, definitely look into what is available to satisfy your taste.

Fashion wise, I would like to share with you my new Jeffrey Campbell shoe obsession. Couple days ago I ordered these beautiful boots, and I cannot wait to incorporate them into my outfits.

La Mode C’Est Vous

Lately I’ve been thinking that there is no other God’s creature that is as fascinating as a person. Everybody looks different, everybody has a different life, and everybody views the world differently. I often wish I could spend a day in somebody else’s head, thoughts. Really see what that person cares about, what that person’s perception of certain things is. Just imagine how intellectually and emotionally rich we could be if we would be able to see the world from all people’s perspective? I feel like I want to get to know everybody, hear everybody, feel everybody!

These pictures are from people that I have met either on the street or online because people are the ones that create the fashion.

I met Nicolas and Sandro in the heart of Dublin – Temple Bar. I fell in love with their look right away, these guys are wearing agnes b, The Kooplees, Zara and River Island.

Here is also a little memo Sandro left in my notebook. This is why people inspire me.

My favorite from Hilary’s look definitely is the headband.

Margie combines all my favorites – vintage sweater, denim shirt, skinny pants and oxfords.

I just fall for the oversized clothing. Annemiek is wearing Zara.

The combination of oversized cardigan and skinny jeans is what makes Jinna’s outfit so great.

And last but definitely not least is the combination the faux turban and animal printed blouse by The Glamourai that makes my heart beat faster.

Music wise, this time I want to share a whole playlist with you because I just think it is perfect.
