Brandon Sun FW13 details / MBFWNY

Dark and moody are the words that describe Brandon Sun’s FW13 collection the best. I’m in love with the long silks, oversized layered jackets, tailored wide pants. Definitely a lot of detail to be inspired from and maybe even borrow some of the styling ideas already for spring - v-neck plus a silk scarf or turtle neck collar, anyone?

The first day of IFB Con I wore something similar to this. I cannot wait for summer to come when this pajama outfit will be all that’s needed.

Remember when I introduced you to Erin Barr and told you that her show was one of the most exciting ones for me to attend? Well, it was everything I expected. From the choice of location to the last look of the collection, this show was an absolute aesthetic magic. Shirt - dresses, silk, zippers, high slits and 90ies minimalism inspired cuts and shapes is something I’d be happy to wear this fall. And, honestly, always.

If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw that after the show I got to meet the beautiful designer herself, only to discover that this collection is a true reflection of her personal style. She shared that minimalism is about a lifestyle for her and a tomboyish style is no stranger to her either.

PS. One thing I discovered during Fashion Week was that if you don’t have a personal photographer, it is pretty tough to take outfit photos during the hectic schedule. Thus, I’ll try to recreate some of my outfits soon and post them from the comfort of my own home. I hope you can understand.

CZar FW13 / MBFWNY

A few of my favorites from CZar by Cesar Galindo FW13. Pastel blue convertible hoodie coat, oversized brick variegated brocade jacket and disconnected leather sleeves with both formal and day dresses.

Fashion week has been very different from the one in September. The weather is keeping us all more focused on shows rather than going all out on streetstyle. Honestly, I like it that way, takes some pressure off.

What to do when nails start chipping? / BEAUTY

Remember my matte black nails? This is what I did once it started chipping - just painted the chipped parts nude. It stills looks grungy, yet neat.

The hubs and I’ve been in a little “Friends” mood. Nice, a bit naive 90ies humor and style. There is an episode where Monica wears a long silver coat, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since first seeing the thing. This vintage windbreaker is the closest thing I’ve found, an it’s good enough.  Last week for a day the weather was warm enough to wear it, and I jumped right on it. Styled with AA Disco Pants for that extra 90ies shine.

NYFW is a little less than a week away, and I just really want to introduce you to a designer whose show I am very excited to attend - Erin Barr. After interning with Alexander Wang and obtaining a design assistant position with Cushnie Et Ochs she was definitely ready to come out with her own eponymous collection. "Erin Barr, the new designer collection by Erin Barr, is a study in contrasts reflecting the real attitudes of the modern day woman.”

Her minimalistic yet very strong pieces spoke to me right away. I’m fascinated by the detailing created by cut-outs, leather inserts and zippers. My favorite pieces are still predominantly white for spring and summer and then moving on to monochromatic denim looks for pre-fall.
