Peru one day...

In August I went to Washington DC, USA, in September I went to France. Now it has been already a month since I came back from Paris, and I have to be honest – I need my traveling fix. For now, I don’t even know yet when my next trip is going to be. Little depressing.
HOWEVER, last Saturday my friend and I went to a concert in Dublin. All I knew about the band was that they were a Christian band from Holland. Good enough for me.  Turned out the music by Trinity could satisfy my traveling addiction for that night. Three of the band members, the Smelt brothers, spent their childhood in Peru, and every song has a little bit of Peruvian spirit in it. So here it is, music once again can inspire and make me feel like I’m traveling.

This is the outfit I wore that night. I love the dress from H&M because I feel it is so versatile – I can wear it with everything. And, of course, my weakness faux-fur.

Where from do you get inspiration? What makes you feel like you just want to quit doing all the boring routine, but sometimes the most comfortable, stuff you are doing and turn to doing things that make you step out of your comfort zone? Something that makes you happy and maybe inspires others…

ONE of the things that greatly inspires me is music. Probably not the music we usually hear on the radio over and over again, but the one I like to call the “discovered music”. This music you have to intentionally search for because you are not satisfied with what the mass media want to push on you. One of these discoveries for me is White Sea. What I absolutely love about her is that she puts everything she likes into her music. In "This Frontier" each song is a little different and unique. On the interview with UO White Sea says that when she is writing music, she doesn’t like to restrict herself by any commonly accepted standards but just mix together all the genres she likes. Sometimes I feel the same way. I like to travel, I like fashion, I like music, I like healthy lifestyle and so many other things, but how do I connect all of these things in some kind of recognized order so they make sense for other people? Maybe I don’t have to. Maybe I can just throw them all together in a big box and see what happens. It could be something completely unusual and fascinating like music by White Sea. What are the things you are going to throw in your box? Food for thought, huh?
Nevertheless, here is my outfit inspired by White Sea’s Cannibal Love.

This Is OUR WORLD

The inaugural Dublin Festival of Fashion, Ireland’s largest fashion event to date, set the capital alight from Friday October 1st till Sunday October 3rd. Hosted by Dublin City BID (Business Improvement District), The Dublin Festival of Fashion transformed the city’s leading shopping districts into a haven of fashion shows, styling workshops with top Irish and international professionals as well as the best retail discounts and special promotions were offered in the heart of Dublin.

One of the festival’s top attractions was a series of fashion shows taking place in the Ilac Center and St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Center. Daily shows translating the season’s key trends featured everything from street fashion to high end to retro and vintage, all selected from the retailers of Dublin city. The Dublin Festival of Fashion HQ, which spring to life in the old Habitat building on College Green, featured a pop-up Barnardos vintage clothing and Bridal shop, fashion exhibition by Griffith College Students and a series of Rimmel beauty masterclasses with top celebrity makeup artists Ken Boylan and Sarah Jane Wai O’Flynn.

However, my personal favourite was the edgy fashion show on Saturday October 2nd at the Good Bits Club featuring clothing from extremely girlie and fun Kling and environmentally friendly Skunfunk from Spain.  And when I say “environmentally friendly” I don’t mean just a brand that claims they are environmentally friendly because of not using as much plastic or paper as other companies. Skunkfunk team states:”This is OUR WORLD and we are concerned about it.” They actually use sustainable organic and recycled materials to produce their clothing that is a great turn on for me. Not to mention that their clothing is fresh, funky, and over all just cool.
