samurai hair / beauty

PhotobucketPhotobucket

sheer shirt - American Apparel

Lately I’ve been liking hairstyles that pull the hair off my face. There is just something so elegant and minimal about having your hair up. These two hairdos that I’ve been wearing a lot lately are inspired by samurais, my husband and football players. Sometimes men just know what is good.

ps. i’ll be back to regular posting schedule very soon. a lot going on right now, but it’s all for the best.

The craze of A/W 2012 fashion weeks is long gone, and we’ve already picked our favorites and some trends to follow because the “big” fashion sites have informed us well and we’ve seen it all. Well, not really… The other day one of my favorite designers and bloggers Charlie May announced that she had added her A/W lookbook to a site called LOOKK. As a faithful follower I checked the site out, and I just could not believe my eyes. Turns out many brilliant new designers add their lookbooks to LOOKK which makes this site a giant gold mine if you are looking to discover fresh talents. The above three ladies are my favorites so far, but there is so much more to see. I’m not going to post all of my finds on here, but I’ll be a happy pinner so you’re welcome to join my pinterest!

On a different note… two more days to work and then it’s my birthday weekend! yay!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Much love, beautiful babes!!

silk top - thrifted / pants - UNIQLO / shoes - H&M / clear choker - DIY (here)

While I was in NYC a week ago, I bought two new items - H&M shoes and Uniqlo pants. I have to admit, it felt a little weird because I hadn’t actually gone shopping like that for a while. Trying to not over-consume, you know. These seem like good, basic additions to my wardrobe that can be worn a lot though, so, I guess, it’ll be ok. The shoes are super comfy, perfect to wear every day when I have to walk a lot yet want to look a little dressed up.

I miss NYC already. Glad that we have a trip back already planned for june.

What is your favorite city?

Much love, babes!! Thank you for all your support. Without you this would be nothing.

white leather top / DIY

PhotobucketPhotobucket

So this is the top I made a little more than a week ago (I talked about it here). My sewing machine didn’t work so I had to sew it together by hand, but it was well worth it. Similar versions of this in black, nude, and possibly clear colors are haunting me, but I’ll have to buy a new sewing machine before that is going to happen. I feel like this is another very easy DIY project, and the pictures are pretty self explanatory, but, please, don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Much love, ladies!!

Postcards / NYC

Regina is wearing: sweater - Brandy Melville / necklace - Madewell Me: turtleneck - Ralph Lauren / choker - H&M / ear cuff - ebay

This weekend I'm in NYC. Mostly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's my husband's and I one year wedding anniversary so we decided to see our awesome friends in our favorite city. We did go little shopping yesterday because I really wanted to visit Uniqlo, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed when I discovered it was more like a department store, not a boutique. But that's ok. I got an awesome pair of pants. That's already an other post though. If you'd like to see more pictures, you can check out my twitter. I love you, babes, and hope you're having a good weekend!

security is dangerous

Photobucket

cropped sweater - primark / visor - flea market

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism. All of which may appear to give one peace of mind but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon. For each day to have a new and different sun. -Christopher McCandless

PS. Check out here what I’ve been working on all day today! A post with directions will be up next week.
