When thinking about minimal clothes we often think of something very simple yet striking, sharp lines and different cuts. However, at the essence of minimal dressing can be clothing that is called basics. Like jeans, a cozy winter sweater that can be worn every day, and simple pumps.

Thanks Bloggers Wardrobe for this super warm and perfect for the season sweater from Whyred. Believe me, I’ll be wearing it.

Happy weekend, loves!!!

round to pointy toes / DIY

For a while now… actually, pretty much always, I’ve been more into pointy toes rather than round toe shoes. All I can say about this DIY is - I wish I had come up with it during the summer. But, you know, we still might get some Indian Summer when I can give my new pointy toe shoes a good try.

All you will need for this DIY is a pair of round toe shoes that you don’t feel bad about cutting up, sharp knife and acrylic paint that matches your shoes (I’m still on the search for this because I don’t want my shoes to have darker edges where I cut them, but this is the result for now).

Much love to you my lovely friends!!

UPDATE (9-28) :

My impatience and the need for perfection sometimes do not agree with each other. I was too eager to show you this idea, and because of my impatience I did it even though I knew the shoes did not look 100% what I wanted them to be. So here is an updated version. To cover the dark edges, and to make the look completely straight and neat I superglued strips of white leather that I had left-over from other projects. Now they look exactly as I imagined.

black sheer

When on the run this fall, I will be turning to my vintage men’s loafers. What will your go-to shoes be?

silver for silver

When attending an event where dressing up is required, sometimes it is easy (at least for me) to take a step back from my style and just wear something more generic. It’s very easy to put on a dress and just look “pretty". But at the end of the night I’m not happy because I feel like I have stepped away from what I REALLY like. So this is what this outfit is about. I picked a “pretty” dress from Sugarlips, but the metallic shine, texture-blocking, and the controversial yellow zipper makes it more appropriate for me. Then just adding golden heeled boots, sporty vintage jacket, and ombre lips makes a look that is good enough to go to a gala (probably tomorrow for a gala organized by my agency)  yet still represents my style.

Another thing I learned while in NY (1st was the fact that not so many people wear black there) was that the combination of hot weather and packed schedule makes me change my mind on what I’m going to wear in a split second. And sometimes it’s not for the better. Also I learned that a lot of girls pre-plan their outfits for the FW day by day to the last detail. I bet that takes off so much pressure once you arrive there. Something to keep in mind for February.

Now to something more fun. While in NY, I had a chance to meet so many talented, inspirational people, it’s not even funny. And one of them is my friend Andre Supa from Denmark. Andre is working on his own collection A.N.D right now, and will present it during fashion week for F/W’13 in Copenhagen. Andre has created (and by created I mean did everything - directed, shot and edited) an ethereal short film surrounding the birth of A.N.D As you may know, I am very inspired by short films so I decided to share. Soak it in, babes! This guy is cool, and he’ll do great things (silver fox is a nickname he gave me, and it has kind of stuck with me).

BLACK NYFW

Photobucket

Top - ℅ Pola Thomson / skirt - Romwe / sandals - Dolce Vita

One of the outfits that I wore during NYFW. I have to admit, when going to NY a lot of people, and me as well assume that black is very common during the fashion week there. Turns out - not so much. The 2 days I was wearing all black while in NYC, I felt that I was sticking out like a soar thumb. Oh well, that’s what I like to wear  - black and white.

How have you been, my babes?

W118 by Walter Baker

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

The presentation of W118 by Walter Baker SS’13, in my eyes, was set up perfectly. The designs were divided in 2 sides - one very romantic, flowery and light, and the other more emphasizing strong lines, clean cuts, and minimal colors. The beauty of blogging is the freedom to pick your preferred side and talk about that. So this is what you see - next spring we’ll still be into minimalism because that is a (life)style choice, not a fashion trend, but to add some edge I really liked the perforated materials and ombre leather jacket.

Pola Thomson SS’13

While in NYC I had a chance to preview Pola Thomson’s SS’13 collection. I was actually one of the first ones to see it, as it had been finished and shot for the lookbook just a day before. I introduced you to Pola just a little while ago, as I was totally mesmerized by her minimalistic yet fresh fall looks. Well, the SS’13 collection is no different if not even a step closer to a perfection in my eyes. Stiff yet light rain coat like fabrics, clears, sheers, and boxy and asymmetric shapes are all a part of the collection. While trying on and snapping my favorites, I was  drooling and getting anxious for the spring already. As you can see, the lovely designer has a very raw and chic style herself, and her instagram (@polathomson) has been a real eye candy for me.

Much love, dolls! Have a great week!
