White Leather Harness / DIY

By now you probably have noticed that I will not do a DIY project that takes more that 20 minutes. I’m just too lazy. Sad, I know. So there you go - another simple DIY project from me to you that will take away any of your time.

All you need is some leather (or in my case vinyl fabric), scissors, measuring tape, thread, and needle. I cut my longest strip 41 inches (101.5 cm and that’s the one that goes around your waist) and the other two - 29 inches (73.5 cm and goes over your shoulders). Depending on your size and desire, you’ll probably have to adjust these lengths. Tie the longest strip around your waist exactly the way you want it to be. Hold it awkwardly and somehow while holding it, put the shortest strips over your shoulders and attach them with safety pins to the front and back. I know, sounds hard to do, but it’s possible. Once that’s done, just take the harness off and sew the straps on exactly where you attached them with safety pins. And you are DONE. I probably didn’t even need to explain this one, but what’s done is done.

Enjoy, babes!! Love you!!

MOCKBA

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

These are the places and things that I think of when looking back on my trip to Moscow:

-numerous gorgeous cathedrals

-rich history and culture (Bolshoi theater and Tretyakov Gallery)

-memorials built during USSR times

-VDNH and the “Fountain of Friendship”

-view from the Ostankino tower

-riding around and observing Moscow at night

-Red Square

-overload of my childhood’s favorite foods (I grew up in Latvia, but since it is an ex Soviet Union state a lot of food is very similar)

I hope you enjoy the pictures, babes!!

How have you been, my friends?! I’m finally back from Moscow, and I have to tell you the truth - I have missed you. As you can see, these pictures are not from Moscow, but from NYC. That is were we flew in, and, of course, I couldn’t just go straight home. I’m wearing a dress from Aritzia that, I think, is a good investment and a good addition to my wardrobe. In these pictures I’m wearing it in one of the most basic ways possible, but I can think of so many different ways of styling it already.

Now I’ll get on editing my travel pictures, and you’ll see them soon!

Spring’13 FW have already concluded in a few places. Do you have any favorites?

As always, much love, babes!!

time

top - DIY (here) / watch - Triwa (via Bloggers Wardrobe )

When you do something you like, time passes by so quickly. It’s never enough time. I remember being in high school and wishing my time away - on Mondays I’d already be waiting for the Friday. Then one day I realized that this way I’m wishing my life away. I will never have that Monday back again so why wish it away? On that day I made a decision to only do things that are worth my time and do not make me wish it was already the next day. Since then time flies. Deep thoughts again.. Don’t wish your life away! And now it’s time for me to go pack because we are leaving for NYC, and then Moscow in just 2 hours. I’m excited and a little nervous. But over all very thankful. To you, my friends!! Thanks so much for all your sweet comments of support!! To Triwa + Bloggers Wardrobe for this beautiful watch so I can catch my time, to my husband and my dad for this trip that we are about to encounter, and above all to my God.

Much love to you!!

PS. My Russian readers, I’d be super stoked to hear from you if you have any suggestions on what are the must see, must go places in Moscow :)

A few very exciting things are going on right now that are keeping me from posting regularly. Firstly, Alejandro and I are going to Moscow this Saturday. We are going to be there for 8 days, and it involves a lot of preparation. You can probably expect a picture overload when I return. Second event involves these beautiful vintage shoes… but I’ll tell you more about it when the right time comes. Which pair do you like the most?

Love to you, and have a great weekend!

For a while now I have been living by faith that my desire reveals my design and destiny. We all desire to succeed in some areas of our life. And you know what? We are designed to! “Desire reveals design and destiny. An eagle was designed to soar, and it has the desire to soar. The eagle was perfectly designed for it to soar. It was not designed like a chicken. It doesn’t have the desire to cluck around the ground on the ground…” (Dani Johnson) What are your desires? Do they reveal what you were designed for? Most likely they do so go for it and don’t look back!

Much love to you, babes!! Make it a beautiful week! This outfit is just something I can wear all the time. And as you can probably predict from the title - there will be a part II .

shirt - men’s vintage / denim - forever21+DIY / sandals - dolce vita

An outfit highly inspired by CĂ©line Resort’13 collection and Marques Almeida.

Some thoughts that are running through my head:

- seeing collections from ’13 feels weird. and now I’m wearing ’13 in ’12. what is this world coming to?

- I like button-ups. In some way or another they are always in my wardrobe. This time it is a men’s vintage short sleeve shirt.

the one I didn’t hear about - Filip Roth / Fashion Film

Filip Roth - Installing IDentity

Some things I was pondering while watching this brilliant fashion film:

- clothes and trends should not dictate our identity, but even more so they definitely should not hide it

- sometimes I wonder what is going on in my head and why this is so inspiring to me. and not to recreate, but just to do anything

-I could probably live in a space like this. is that weird?

For more inspiration I highly suggest you stalk Filip Roth and his runway shows/installations.
