Polaroid Theme Continues

I just wanted to quickly share this polaroid from a collaboration today with a very talented, determined and super fun couple - designer Kelley Shaffer of JASPR and photographer Peter Larson. And thanks to amazing Kelley, this jumpsuit is hanging in my closet right now.

One more day of work, and I’ll be on my way to NYC this Sunday. YES.

Have a great weekend, babes!!

Conquering the world with the right pair of shoes

boots - wholesale

Last 2 weeks have been insanely busy, and it seems like there is no stopping for a little while more. However, some of this busyness is actually really fun and exciting, as next week I am going to be in New York City for IFB Conference and a little bit of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I’ll be instagraming (karinadej), tweeting and facebooking so you might want to follow me there. So, yeah, my Margiela-ish looking babies and I are ready to conquer the Big Apple!

What’s going on in your lives, babes? Are you following the collections from Stockholm Fashion Week? I haven’t had the time yet, but I know Stockholm is usually one of my favorites so I have to do that ASAP.

Much love!!!

STOLEN POLAROIDS II

Source - Beauty is Boring

Another set of stolen polaroids (don’t worry, they are not really stolen - I have Robin’s approval), only this time I have nothing to do with them except for the fact that my heart stops every time I see them. That’s just how it is, when I really like something, I REALLY like something. The mastermind (make-up and photography) behind these is Robin Black (pretty awesome name, huh?). Check out her blog Beauty is Boring and, yes, you are welcome, my loves!

Stolen POLAROIDS

Dress - Romwe

Polaroids - ℅ Taxi MGMT Blog

I just had to share my new favorite dress with you (do I say that a lot? My new favorite shirt… my new favorite skirt… oh well, moving on) As you can probably guess, I just really like the simplicity of it. Of course, asymmetric and sheer is all good (very good), but the first thing I noticed about it was the neck line. The top looks like the perfect white t-shirt, don’t you think? I just want to wear it all the time. And today I have to go to a wedding, and I’m supper tempted to wear this dress, but, you know, only the bride should wear white. I’m struggling.

Anyway, enough about me. How was your weekend, babes?

Enjoy your Sunday!!!

When describing the designs of Chilean born, NYC based designer Pola Thomson, three words come to my mind - earthy, minimal, timeless. Her Collection #6 FW’12 put a spell on me with the light sheers, clean lines and subtle colors. You can check out her fall collection here and some of my favorites here.

Enjoy your weekend, my babes!!

MODELING PORTFOLIO & AA

bodysuit - American Apparel

Photographer - Jemaar Graham

If I have to talk about timeless brands, I can surely name American Apparel as one. Their garments often seem so basic and casual yet you won’t be able to find it anywhere else. Like this bodysuit. And anything else I own from them I’ve been able to wear for years. Since a couple of you have mentioned it to me that you would like to see a little more of my modeling, I decided to share these photos (done for my portfolio, not to advertise AA) because they can easily be translated into what this blog is about - timelessness.

I did share this on my instagram already so if you want to stay in the loop, get in touch with me there as well (username: karinadej).

Love you much, dolls!!

shirt - Forever 21 / shorts - vintage / shoes - Sam Edelman (via Nordstrom)

Honestly, I don’t know what I like more - the location or the outfit. I’m just not used to looking so colorful. I think, next time I’ll just wear these vintage shorts (that actually really remind me of these shorts from Givenchy 2013 resort collection) with my white RL turtleneck.

Make it a beautiful week, babes!!

Maison Martin Margiela inspired / DIY

Photobucket

Photobucket

Ever since I saw this Maison Martin Margiela single sleeved dinner jacket floating around on pinterest, it’s been almost haunting me. I just kept going back to the idea of making it. But I wasn’t really sure about the concept. How will it stay on? What would I wear it with? So I decided to make it using an old denim shirt that I almost never wear anyway. This way it’s more casual as well. To answer my own questions - it stays on very well because of the collar that goes around your neck. I think it’s going to look really good with something long sleeved and basic, for example, a white thermal. What do you think? I’m also looking forward to see how it looks after I wash the shirt - the cut will be looking even more organic.

Thanks for everything and much love, babes!!!

leather top - DIY (instructions for a similar here) / skirt - H&M / watch - Triwa (via Bloggers Wardrobe)

So here it is, part II for my leather + skirt outfits ("part I" here). This very well represents my two obsessions that by now you probably can see from a mile away - leather and black and white everything. Maybe I choose this because it’s the safe way to go but there might as well be something more to it. I’ll just leave that mystery up to you, my beautiful friends!!

Love you!

Color Tattoo / Beauty

Photobucket

top - H&M (old collection)

eyes - Maybelline (Color Tattoo in 40 Tenacious Teal) / skin - Maybelline (Dream Fresh BB) / Lips - Revlon (Matte 001 Nude Attitude)

As I have shared with you before, I am not very big on makeup. I do not have an hour long routine every morning. It’s more like a 2 minute routine - moisturizer+tinted moisturizer and mascara. Might be even 1 minute. But once in a while I like to experiment and use make-up more as an accessory, not a fix. For example, this teal eyeshadow. I remember having a blue eyeshadow in middle school, but once I was over it, I thought I’d never ever go back. It’s so tacky. Fast forward to, well… now, and here I am with my eyes as blue as they get. I’ve just fallen in love with the effect this eye shadow gives against an all black outfit. Obviously, I wouldn’t wear it every day, but once in a while it can work very well. Two other items I wanted to share with you is my BB tinted moisturizer from Maybelline, and Revlon nude lipstick. I’ve shared lipsticks from Revlon with you before as well. They are super cheap, but the color selection is perfect. Even the nude one. And you have probably already heard of all the hype surrounding BB creams. Mine is alright. Nothing spectacular, but then again, I didn’t buy the most expensive one. One tip I do want to share is that I always buy a shade darker tinted moisturizer and then before applying I just mix it 50/50 with a regular moisturizer. That way it’s more moisturizing and less like a foundation.

I hope you’re having a great weekend, my babes!! Love you!!!

timeless leather goods

leather jacket - Sofifi (via Bloggers Wardrobe) / iPhone case - Nic & Mel (via Bloggers Wardrobe) / leather harness - DIY (directions here)

“Stay Timeless” is the mantra of Nic & Mel. No wonder I was instantly attracted to their products when first seeing them on Bloggers Wardrobe. There is something about leather that just makes it stick with me no matter what other trends come along. Thus I’m sharing these two lately very much used leather items with you - the "cool summer night lifesaver" leather jacket from Sofifi and “oh so handy” iPhone case from Nic & Mel that also has a little pocket for my id and credit cards on the back.

What qualities should a garment or item posses for it to be timeless for you, loves?
